Mumtaza Islamic School is an excellent Islamic education laboratory that was established in February 2009. The establishment of this institution was initiated by some educational experts and Muslim scholars (santri) coordinated in the Yayasan Nawa Dinamika Sejahtera (YNDS). The presence of Mumtaza Islamic School is to fulfil the necessity of a qualified, independent, critical, ingenious and creative education system that is based on the spirit of akhlaq al-karimah (good behaviour). Moreover, Mumtaza Islamic School develops a teaching methodology which appreciates every individual differentiation. Hence, all potencies and talents can be well enhanced and developed. Furthermore, Islamic multiple intelligence and joyful learning methods, used in the learning process, will provide a more interesting educational environment for students. The method concerned is intended to optimize physical actualization, intelligence quotient (al-‘aql), emotional quotient (al-nafs: al-syahwat wa al-ghadlab), and spiritual quotient (al-qalb) of students based on Islamic values.
Mumtaza Islamic school develops a curriculum which synergizes national curriculum (Department of Education) and international curriculum. Precisely, the school adopts Cambridge curriculum system in regard to the national exam requirements. Furthermore, the implementation of the curriculum is equipped with an “active learning program” which motivates and encourages students to be more independent, open-minded, creative, and innovative. Apart from the Cambridge curriculum system, the school is also enriched with tahfidz program (Qur’an memorization). The program uses “fun learning approach” which is specifically designed to create a joyful learning environment for the students.
In terms of teachers, we have qualified, experienced and trained teachers, both locals and expatriates, who have positive and caring attitudes toward students with most having previous experiences in National Plus and International Schools. Mumtaza Islamic School provides high-qualified and skilful teachers in English, Arabic language, tahfidz, ICT (information communication and technology), science and Islamic knowledge. Those teachers will help children to actualize their abilities and talents in accordance with the global and local necessities. We provide two teachers per class with a maximum of 20 students that are accompanied by some specialized subject teachers such as tahfidz, English conversation class (by native speakers), Islamic studies, tahfizh, music, sports and arts.
